Super allows you to add various navigation menus to your Notion website, including a navbar, sidebar, and footer. These menus enable you to place links, calls to action, logos and more—helping users navigate easily throughout your site.
Navbar
A responsive navigation bar (or navbar) is one of three menu types that can be added to the top of your site. It can contain links to other site pages, external links, a call-to-action button, and your website branding.
Navbar type
The Navbar comes with several pre-set style options
- Default: The standard Notion navigation bar
- Simple: Links and actions positioned on the right side
- Balanced: Links positioned in the middle and actions on the right side
- Minimal: Links are shown in a popout menu on mobile and desktop
- Hidden: Navbar is hidden.
Visible on Scroll
This setting gives you the option to decide wether the Navbar stays at the top of the browser when a users scrolls down on your site.
Show Breadcrumbs
This setting gives you the option to decide wether the navigation bar at the top of the page includes breadcrumbs to help users navigate back through your site. Note: it does not appear on the home page.
Call to action
A call to action button is an attention-grabbing button that will appear on your Navbar. It’s the ideal solution for directing your site visitors attention towards a specific page. It could be a link to purchase a product, a contact page, blog post or downloadable file. Once enabled, you can customize the appearance of the button in the Navbar > Styles page.
Sidebar
A vertical sidebar can be added to your site, offering visitors an easy navigation solution for sites with numerous pages that require a more structured menu.
Call to action
The sidebar offers an option to add multiple links in a call-to-action section at the very bottom. This feature is particularly useful for providing links to a landing page or to sign-up/login pages. Check it out in the sidebar to the left on this site.
Sidebar search
This option enables a search field, allowing users to easily access your site's search functionality. It's particularly useful for content-rich sites where you want to make the search feature more prominent, or when you've hidden the navbar for a cleaner look.
Footer
A responsive footer is a standard element on any website. It provides a useful space for including site branding, navigation links, and social media links.
Footer type
The Footer comes with several pre-set style options
- None: No footer
- Stack: Footer elements are stacked vertically and aligned to the center
- Corners: Footer elements are distributed to the corners
- Floating: Same as the Corners style but with a space around the edges
Social icons
This feature gives you the option to add social media links to your footer and appear in the form of the social media icon.
Footnote
The footnote is a useful area for including copyright information, acknowledgements, or credits in the footer.
Logos
Applying logos to your navigation menus is simple. You have the option to apply the same logo across all menus, or specific logos on each menu type.
Each logo also has an optional dark mode version that will be applied if a user toggles between a the different color modes on your site.
To apply a logo to your website navigation menus:
- Head into the Navigation page on your site in Super
- Click into the Manage menu logos page at the bottom
- Choose either text or image for the logo type and begin to customize your logo.
Manage navigation menu links
Super simplifies the management of all your site's links across navigation menus. You can add all links in one centralized location and select which menus they appear on using the toggle item visibility option. Check the instructions below for a guide on how to manage your navigation menu items.
