Pages are essential to any website, and adding a page in Super provides customization and performance benefits.
đź’ˇ When creating a site with Super, it is important that all of your website pages are inside (are a sub-page) of the main Notion page you used to create your site. Please also make sure that your Notion pages are publicly shared.
Automatically Sync Pages (Recommended)
The easiest way to keep your site up to date is by enabling Sync in the Pages section and installing the [Notion Sync Extension](https://docs.super.so/super-sync-chrome-extension).
When Sync is enabled:
- New pages created in your connected Notion workspace are automatically discovered by Super.
- Pretty URLs are automatically generated from your Notion page titles.
- Updates to your published pages are automatically synced to Super.
- New pages become available without needing to manually add them.
This is the recommended setup for most websites since it keeps your content synchronized with minimal effort.
Note: Sync only adds newly discovered pages to your site. It does not automatically remove pages that have been deleted or moved in Notion.
Manually adding a page
Adding a page in Super is easy:
- Copy the Notion share link like you did when creating a site
- Head to the Pages section in your site editor
- Paste the link into the Add new page
Page URLs can be nested, too. To achieve this, expand a page you've already added in the Pages and click the Add page button nested below it.
For example, if you add a page /my-first-post under /blog, the new page will be located at /blog/my-first-post.
Moving a page
In your dashboard, pages under the same parent are listed alphabetically. To change their order, you can move them manually in two ways:
- By dragging the page inside the page where you want it to place.
- By Selecting the page/s first and move it to the designated subpage. This works best if you have a lots of pages to move and fastest way to search its destination page.
Important: Moving a page in the structure will change its URL. EG moving /post-one underneath /blog will make the new URL /blog/post-one
Renaming a page and Customizing URL
Changing a page’s title in Notion won’t affect its Super URL, preventing broken links. To update the URL, click the three-dot More icon next to the page in Super and select Edit Page>Look for Page Path, this updates both the URL and the default meta-title.
A pretty URL can make your site more user and search engine-friendly:
- Search engine and shared links to your site look more credible
- Pretty URLs are shorter, more memorable, and contain relevant keywords describing the page content
- Links are easier to share
- A clearer organization and grouping of your pages
Password protecting a page
You can set a password for your entire site or an individual page to restrict access. Click the three-dot button on a page and choose Set Password. Changes apply to all child pages and may take a few minutes to take effect.
Your site’s live preview ignores passwords since only you can view it. If you’ve entered a password in your browser, you won’t need to re-enter it for 30 days.
Hiding pages on your site
Every page on your Super site must be a Notion subpage of your connected homepage.
You might want to hide some pages, for example, to show links only in the navbar and not within page content. Subpages appear like this in Super:
To hide subpages on your home page or other pages, you can visit this link: [How to Hide Subpages](https://app.notion.com/p/How-to-Hide-Subpages-3d2a50d5f2cc8149a3a6ee84f3001348)
Removing a page
Removing a page from Super doesn’t delete it in Notion. If it still exists, Super may add it back. To fully remove a page, delete or move it in Notion first, then go to your Super dashboard, click the three-dot More icon on the page, and select Remove Page.
⚠️Note: When you remove a page from Super, all of its child pages will be removed as well. Removing a page from Super will also remove any custom code or SEO setting that you have applied to that page and any subpages.
