Learn the most common reasons a Super site isn’t indexed by Google and how to fix indexing issues related to SEO settings, page visibility, and domain configuration.
Overview
If your Super site isn’t appearing in Google search results, it usually means Google is unable to properly crawl or index your pages. This can happen due to configuration settings in Super, visibility settings in Notion, or delays in Google’s crawling process. This article outlines the most common reasons your site may not be indexed and provides steps to resolve them.
Common causes
Your Super site may not be indexed for one or more of the following reasons:
- Indexing is disabled in Super settings – Page or site indexing may be turned off, preventing search engines from crawling your content.
- The Notion page isn’t shared publicly – Google can only index pages that are publicly accessible.
- The site is newly published – New sites often take time before Google discovers and crawls them.
- Domain or redirect settings are misconfigured – Incorrect custom domain or redirect settings can block search engine access.
- No sitemap is submitted or detected – Without a sitemap, Google may struggle to discover all of your pages.
How to fix it
To improve your site’s visibility on Google, follow these steps:
- Enable indexing in Super Make sure page and site indexing are turned on in your Super settings.
- Confirm the Notion page is public Ensure the Notion page is shared publicly and accessible without restrictions.
- Verify your custom domain Check that your domain is correctly connected, live, and loading without errors.
- Check your sitemap Confirm that your sitemap is available and accessible, and that Google can detect it.
- Request indexing in Google Search Console Use Google Search Console to manually request indexing and monitor crawl status.
When to expect results
Indexing is not instant. Once issues are resolved, it can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks for Google to crawl and index your site, depending on your site’s age, content updates, and Google’s crawl frequency.
