Duplicating a site creates a new site in Super with the same look and setup as the original. Use it to try a redesign without touching your live site, or to start a new site from one you have already built.
Important: The copy uses the same Notion page as the original. It is not a copy of your Notion content: if you edit the Notion page, both sites change.
Steps
- Go to the Sites dashboard.
- Click the ⋯ button on the site you want to copy.
- Click Duplicate site.
- Click Duplicate to confirm.
The copy appears in your Sites dashboard as Copy of [site name] with its own super.site address, for example copy-of-my-site.super.site. You can rename it and change the address in the site settings.
If you are working in a Team workspace, the copy stays in the same Team, and team members with access to sites can work on it.
What is copied
- Design: colors, fonts, layout and other design settings. The copy gets its own design, so changing it does not affect the original.
- Custom code
- Favicon and logos (navbar, footer and sidebar)
- Navbar, footer and sidebar style settings
- Site SEO settings
- Site options (search, theme toggle, page properties and similar)
- The connected Notion page
What is not copied
Set these up again on the copy if you need them:
- Navbar, footer and sidebar links, and the navbar button (CTA)
- Page settings: custom page URLs, page SEO, password-protected pages and hidden pages
- Custom domain
- Uploaded files
- Languages
- Membership settings
- Add-ons such as Super Analytics
- The plan: the copy starts on the Free plan (see below)
Plan and billing
The copy is created on the Free plan, and duplicating a site does not change your billing.
- If you have no other free site in your workspace, the copy is live right away on its super.site address.
- If you already have a free site, the copy is created as Inactive. To make it live, upgrade it, or use Make this site live in its ⋯ menu. You can only have one free site live at a time, so making the copy live takes your other free site offline.
To use paid features such as a custom domain on the copy, upgrade the copy itself. The plan of the original site stays with the original.
After you duplicate
The pages of the copy sync from Notion in the background after it is created. On a large site this can take a few minutes, and until it finishes some pages may be missing or show older content. The Free plan page limit applies to the copy until you upgrade it.
Tips & Notes
- Duplicating does not change the original site in any way.
- To move a site to another account or Team instead of copying it, use Transfer site. See:

- If you see an error while duplicating, try again in a minute. If it keeps failing, contact Customer Support and tell us the name of the site.
